Problem with ftp and special characters

Hi

I'm having a bit of a problem downloading recursive from ftp servere  
when some of the files have special characters. Like danish æøå etc.

wget then complains:

==> PORT ... done.    ==> RETR filename ?.txt ... done.
80.163.131.231/skod/filename ?.txt: Invalid argument

The file is called:

filename æ.txt


Is there a workaround ?
