COULD QUIZ #11 BE TOO EASY?
========================================================

Some readers found Quizes 1 through 10 a bit too difficult so our
Assistant Editor, Peggy Rouse, created a "creampuff" quiz designed to
please all readers who like to get 10 out of 10. (Let's face it: we
could all use an ego boost now and then.) One might wonder whether
some of the questions in Quiz #11 would seem a bit insulting to the
intelligence of the average information technologist - in short, that
the quiz would be a little too easy for your egos. Surprisingly,
some of us at TechTarget found it a bit too difficult - possibly
because we were thinking too hard? We're not sure so perhaps you
could let us know what you think. It wouldn't take you long,
possibly as little as 3 minutes. (Remember not to think too hard.)
Try it at...

Then let us know how you did. We're interested.

RECENT UPDATES AND REPAIRS
=========================================================

We spend a lot of time at whatis.com just fixing. First, we admit
that sometimes we don't always get it right the first time. When we
do, new developments sometimes date our definitions faster than you
can imagine. Among recent updates and repairs:

o dogcow (we didn't have the right name for the graphic designer who
created this famous icon for Apple Computers). See...

o cluster (in addition to adding a badly-needed definition of
"clustering," we updated "cluster" to provide a third meaning for it
(and, since it's currently a very important trend, listed it first).
See...

o downsizing (we clarified its relationship to the "layoff").

o  namespace (we had this one completely wrong so we rewrote it;
many readers complained about our first version, and all of us feel
better now!).  See...

o polymorphism (this one can get complicated because there are a
number of types of polymorphism in programming; we decided not to
attempt to be exhaustive and just to give the reader some good links
to more information).  See...

Believe us, this is just a sample.

WEB SITE OF THE WEEK - SEARCHENTERPRISESERVERS.COM
=========================================================

The future of enterprise servers is going to be a world dominated by
64-bit chip processing. Where exactly are we on the road to 64-bit
processing? Who are the market leaders and what trends are being
established? Find the answers to all of these questions at
searchEnterpriseServers.com.  See...
