Jason,

The functionality changed in the last major release of WhatsUp Gold.
Variables are included as literals in test messages only.  An actual
notification will populate the variables with the correct information.  Set
up a quick test by forcing an actual "DOWN" alert to confirm that the
notification behavior is correct.
