I've had something like this happen before when I did a reinstall. It
turned out that the default startup map (under Options\startup\use this
map) had the same name as the map I was trying to use. Since the
default loaded whenever I started WUG it was running in the background.
Whenever I tried to open the desired map I got a flash and then
nothing. I had to go in and change the default startup.
