Jason,

The Event report pulls that data from the whatsupg.log (5.x and earlier) or the
EV-YYY-MM-DD.tab files. The log records the device name (not the display name).
In response to your previous post: You can select the appropriate date range to limit
the report to devices that you are currently monitoring. The latest log files will
only contain data for devices that are currently being monitored on your map.

If your are referring to the Statistics or Performance Graph reports the rules are
slightly different.  The following applies:
The Statistic reports pull that data from the whatstats.log (5.x and earlier) or the
ST-YYY-MM-DD.tab files. The log records the display name (not the device name).

The WhatsUp Gold Performance Graphs can span multiple maps. A text report just like
the report Generated by the Statistics report is provided: Report Type->Daily Text
Report.
The Performance Graphs allow you to easily specify devices for example:
I want to generate a Performance Graph report for device display names that contain
"ftp" and "gw", I would set the following Report Selection Criteria:
DeviceName=contains
Search String=ftp*,gw*

I hope this helps,

Joe
