Hello Ken,

We monitor temperature/power on a APC-UPS and a second way using a WallBotz
made by NetBotz. Check it out at: www.whatsupgold.net click on the
WhatsUp Gold icon
L: guest
P:

Click on the UPS at the bottom of the equipment rack and on the WallBotz to
the right. Have Denika send a trap to WUG for pager notification or send an
email when thresholds are reached.

As you explained, you can also do it without Denika by just using the WUG
SNMP plugin.

I hope the black outs don't become to much of a problem for you.

Good Luck,

Michael Patterson

Hi Ken!

I am monitoring the temperature of servers and ATM-Switches with a custom
SNMP-Service. Another way is to buy a temperature probe where you can get
the temperature over SNMP too. Just try to 'walk' the private mib-tree of a
server with the appropriate mib installed. Maybe you'll get the values.

Return Receipt Notification
---------------------------

Hi,

Is there anyway to monitor temperature in the server room and have What'sup
Gold page or e-mail if the temperature goes above certain level. With the
threat of rolling blackout this summer in California, I also want to monitor
power from What's up gold.

Any ideas?
