Please, if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. I'm new to snmp
and I'm trying to set it up but am having little to no luck. I now
understand how this stuff kind of works (the mechanics of the application).
But, when I try to do something as simple as monitor the whether the door is
open on a printer I have no luck.
I'm trying to monitor a hplj4050
I've installed the hjs400.mib that I got from www.somix.com
Using the nettools/snmp I'm able to pull up the status of the machine but
when I try to create a custom service using this info I have not luck. when
I mess with the physical printer, I have no change in state on whatsup.
HELP.
