There is also a utility that comes with the 2000 resource kit.

Sure. There's a free utility called PsExec that will let you remotely
execute programs on Windows NT and Windows 2000 machines. You can download
it here:
http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/psexec.shtml
(that should all be on one line above)
Just configure a program notification to call the appropriate PSEXEC command
line.
