Hi Tim,
Can only help you with the number of devices question.
I monitor over 600 devices no problem.
The biggest issue is the loading on the machine running Whatsup. SO USE a
box with lots of CPU and network power.

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] 2 Easy and 1 Hard Question
WUG Gurus,
I am working on a Network Management opportunity and have a couple of
questions (I tried to save them up so I would only bug you once):
(e) How many devices can WUG monitor? I am looking at a network with well
over 500 devices (30 or so Maps), do you think this will be a problem?
(h) I am going to be using a combination of Denika and WUG, I would like
to set up an alarm that sends an email when a WAN link is over %75 utilized
for a period of 10 minutes or more? Any Ideas?
(e) And lastly application support: SAP, Notes, PeopleSoft, Oracle,
MS-SQL; can custom services be set up for all these devices (port #'s would
be great)?
Thanks for any and all help!!!!
Tim Pfannes
P.S. How is this for a wish list item: Let me have a line on a map and
have its color property be directly related to the routers its connected
to, that way if I lose a WAN interface I can have link turn red with the
routers. Just an idea.
