I've never seen IPSec/SNMP used to poll a firewall. SNMP's security at this
point in time is quite lame. So I am interested in finding out more about
IPSec and SNMP, if anyone does it.
SNMPV1 is still the most widely used implementation.
SNMPV2 has security but none of those implementations have taken off. Not
SNMPV2c though.
SNMPV3 is still in draft and is not really supported by most applications.
Most of the time I don't recommend enabling SNMP on anything outside of the
firewall(including the firewall) because of the lack of security. So if this
were feasible, it would be helpful.

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] SNMP - DMZ - IPSec
Just wondering if anyone out there is doing SNMP in their DMZ? If so are you
securing the SNMP messages with IPSec. Feedback? Results, concerns??
Just wondering.
