Charlie,
Thanks.
I can monitor the built in 443 port, and icmp will tell me if the server is up,
but I want to pull an asp page that tells me if asp is operational, and I can't
negotiate the secure handshake with WUG.
Shmuel.

I didn't try to figure out how to set up WUG to monitor port 443 for SSL.
Instead I looked at a work around. You can set up another service to
monitor on the server. Just make sure it isn't susceptible to attack. One
choice is the Time service. Then monitor that service. It will tell you if
the server is up. That's half the battle.

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] ssl monitoring
Hello,
Has anyone figured out how to monitor HTTPS or SSL connections? Below is
from
the KB on ipswitch.
Question/Problem: Does WhatsUp Gold support service checks for HTTPS or SSL
connections?
Answer/Solution: No, WhatsUp Gold does not support service checks for HTTPS
or
SSL connections.
The encryption prevents the WhatsUp Gold code from monitoring them.
Thanks,
Shmuel.
