Hi Rod,
Here is some more info on it to add to David's:
Inverted device label is an indicator that the device state has changed and you
have yet to 'acknowledge' it. Right clicking on the device is one quick method
of 'acknowledgement'. Monitor->Acknowledge is another way (for all devices on the
map).
Imagine a device failed a few pings or went down briefly and came back
up again while you had coffee, a notification was not triggered because
it was not down long enough - this indicator is a clue that something (anything)
happened on this device.
Or say you were fiddling with a key router/switch connected to your WUG box
and the WUG polled devices started going down, you can immediately 'acknowledge' them
before the triggers start issuing notifications to your emergency swat team :).
Fyi: Alerts can override 'acknowledgement' if you have configured them with 'Send
alert even on console response'.
>From help: Send alert even if console response. When checked, this alert will be sent
>even if the alarm on this device has been
acknowledged on the WhatsUp Gold console (by selecting Monitor->Acknowledge).
hope this helps clear things up
Adrian
