Justin,

Am using WUG to monitor several Sun Microsystems machines running Solaris 2.6.
After a bit of deliberation I decided to use the Net-SNMP (formerly UCD-SNMP)
agent (http://www.net-snmp.org) to relay information into WUG. The agent is
fully configurable under all flavours of Unix and monitors file system capacity
by disk slice, CPU and memory utilisation, status of selected processes, size of
selected files and a whole bunch of other stuff that I haven't even looked at
yet. Once you have it up and running you can then compile the Net-SNMP mibs
into WUG and create a custom SNMP Threshold service to monitor your disk usage.

The documentation on the web site is pretty good, but please give me a shout if
you need any pointers.

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] Monitoring Unix File-Systems

Hi All,

I would like to use What's Up Gold to notify me when a Unix file-system fills up
or gets over a certain critical level.
Has anyone configured What's Up Gold like this for a Unix host?
If so, how did you do it?

Thanks in advance,
Justin.
