I agree.

I have been using WU since 95 and switched to WUG as soon as it ran as an NT
service and I cannot remember a time when I have been more excited to get my
hands on the product. I went through the beta and take it from me, GET IT!

I'll have so many things I can do now, I do not know where to start.

Thanks
Tony

Subject: RE: [WhatsUp Forum] WUG 7.0 features?

There is more to the product than looking at the user guide. Yes, it does
justify a new release because of the amount of new enhancements. This was
not a maintenance fix. So, here are the features:

. Ability to export/import device/map information to an XML and INI file
. Colored link lines that can be used to represent interfaces or other
services
. Increased SNMP monitoring - constants, ranges and rates
. Unlimited scripting of TCP/UDP monitoring
. An active discovery to add devices add to your network since last network
scan
. Interface discovery and monitoring
. Customizable web templates
. Text to speech notification
. Improved Reporting interface
. Simpler management of Custom Services and Device Types
. Simpler management for Alerts
. Simpler control panel navigation with tab bars

Ok, so this list could go on for a awhile, but there are two things that I
would like to readily point out about this release - price and value. The
price is still the same, $795 or $1090 with service agreement. The value to
your return on investment has increased greatly. With unlimited scripting,
you now can now create synthetic transactions that reach into your mission
critical applications to monitor their availability. With customizable web
templates you can organize the data based upon your organizational schemas,
and add private labelling. With export and importing of XML and /or INI
files, we have begun to open the architecture of WhatsUp Gold. And still
the ROI goes on and on.

I spent yesterday going through the user guide for 7.0. I am not at all
sure
this new release qualifies for a bump up to a whole new number, it looks
like
minor fixes to the 6.x code.

Is anyone using 7? Does it really justify the upgrade?
