Doesn't it do this anyway? If it is a subnet within the map then any alerts
on the subnet will cause the icon on the parent map to change shape/colour.
The only time this won't happen is if the subnet map isn't loaded and
therefore ins't being monitored. It will appear as gray on the parent map.

Issue -

 Currently, I have a map monitoring the network.  In that map I have added
 a container for VPN devices.

 Question:  How can I have the "VPN container" change colors or state if a
 device inside that container is unavailable ?
