Part of the problem is that I'm unsure how to go about the specifics of
getting a response. The 2 unix guys we have here have been little help in
the issue. What are the things I should be trying to locate/go after?

Hello James,

You will need to set up a custom TCP/UDP script through
Configure->Monitor&Services.

For mine I have UDP as the Network Type and PortNumber is 1645 and a 5
second timeout.
The rest of the script is:
Send=%01D%00,0123456789012345%01%06TEST%02%18abcdefghijklmnop
Expect=%03D

Now this is just a sample and yours should be set to your own specific
environment.

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] unix radius monitoring

hey all

I've been trying since WUG6 to get WUG to monitor the radius on our Unix
servers. Technical support was very limited on the subject. I was
wondering if anyone has gotten this to work yet? & if so, any advice? I'm
currently running WUG7.

I'm hoping I don't have to run Big Brother/Sister on another server just to
monitor radius when WUG says that you can.
