Here are the ways to 'Acknowledge' device events (i.e. clear the inverted text that indicates that something 'new' happened on the device)
>From the Console: 1) To ack a single device: Right click or double click on the device. 2) To ack all devices on the map: Select the menu "Monitor | Acknowledge" (pg 108) >From the Web: 1) To ack a single device: Drill down to the device and select "Acknowledge" from the 'buttons' on the right, this 'button' will appear below Tools if the device can be ack'd. 1) To ack all devices on the map: From the map view select "Acknowledge" from the 'buttons' on the right, this 'button' will appear below Tools if there are devices that can be ack'd. Note that Alerts may not trigger on acknowledged devices. See the option "Send alert even if console response" in the Alert definition if you want alerts to trigger even if the device is Acknowledged. (from the online help: When selected, this alert will be sent even if the alarm on this device has been acknowledged on the WhatsUp Gold console (by selecting Monitor->Acknowledge) [... or via the web].) Known issue in v7: the SNMP trap indicator (purple star) cannot be ack'd (i.e. reset to white) this is addressed in the next maintenance release. hope this helps, Adrian ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bruce Shaw" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, February 06, 2002 5:51 PM Subject: RE: [WhatsUp Forum] clearing event notifications - slightly faster way > Nope.
