I have upgraded to 7.01 and I use the web interface for updates. It works
fine in both places. You might want to check to see if the directory of
where the maps are being used are the same. You may inadvertently have 2
sets up maps being updated.

I have never had any luck with the web updates saving to disk.  We have
switched to making changes at the console and saving them there.  To save
the trouble of having to run back and forth to the console, we use a virtual
console.

Once you get the hang of it, the software is great.  Here's the link to it:
