Eric,

If the application you want to monitor is on a win-32 box, CoCoRes's Remote Application Monitor plug-in can monitor it.  If the database is DB2, Oracle, SQL, Sybase, Access, or is ODBC compliant, that can be monitored by our dbmon plug-in.  When you have a failure if it creates an event in the event log, that can be monitored with our event monitor plug-in.

Contact me directly for more information.

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] Need to monitor an e-commerce site

I currently have the need to monitor an e-commerce site, and I am not sure of a good way to do this.  I am not so sure that I can using WUG alone.  I am hoping that someone here may have some good ideas.  In order to tell if the site is up, one must attempt to log in.  If it is up, you will get into the online application.  If it is not, you receive a screen saying you cannot log in at this time.

I am monitoring the box itself and all of it's services with WUG.  But, if the application itself goes down, no services, etc drop, so therefore, WUG does not inform me.

To add more to the mix......The logon page is on one server that can talk to the app/database server to Authorize logons.  NO other computers can talk directly to the app/database server, only the server holding the logon page is allowed access.

Does anyone know of any products that may be able to do this function?  Any that may work in conjunction with WUG?
