Chris,
I have discovered my network from a hosts file.
This way, you can export whatever you want to the hosts file and discover from there.
Alternatively, you could let WUG discover your network through SNMP, and have a
different
community string on your network equipment (hope you don't have "public" on all your
devices :-)
A device with a "wrong" string would be ignored.

Hope this helps.
Laurent.

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] Discovery Filters

I am running 7.0 and was wondering if there is anyway to filter a discovery.
I am only concerned about my routers & switches and I don't want to discover
printers or servers. I know that after the initial SNMP Scan is done you can
pick and chose what you want on the map but if you have over 1000 devices
that is very time consuming.

If there is no way, I would like to see this feature in a future release.

Thanks,
Chris
