Same Problem

I just created custom services that do get http requests and added these
services to the proxy servers

Create a New TCP Service
Set the port to your proxy port: 81 or whatever you use
Set the Timeout to 1 or 2 seconds
use the following script

Send=GET http://www.yahoo.com <http://www.yahoo.com>  / HTTP/1.0\r\nAccept:
*/*\r\nUser-Agent: Ipswitch_Whatsup/4.0\r\n\r\n
Expect=~.*</html>

Just change then http:// URL ADDRESS to the whatever website you wish.

Good Luck.

Juan

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] Proxies

We are in the process of changing our firewall infrastructure which will
require accessing the internet via proxy through a squid box. I checked the
IPswitch knowledge base to see if there was anyway to monitor through a
proxy server and their answer was "There is no built-in method for
connecting through a proxy server or firewall. If you wanted to do this you
would have to write a COM plug-in for WhatsUp Gold."
My question is, has anyone created a COM plug-in for this or know if one is
available from any other vendor?
Alan
