Don't know if this helps at all regarding a new device, but anyway.
The items (maps) in the web interface are listed in the order in which the
maps are opened on the server. I reorganized the opening of all my maps so
that my web view shows everything in a top-down structure, regions at the
top, then individual branch offices. Thus, when I go to the web interface,
I drill down through region and branch to the problem device/service,
following the colored notification (rather than scrolling through a long
list of maps).

Please respond to
WhatsUp_Forum
But I thought when you add a new device to a map, WUG just places it
anywhere. At least that is what I have noticed via the Web interface.
