One of the biggest sources of problems comes from the video side of a server. I wish I had a nickel for the number of times I've seen idiot sys admins running servers with OpenGL screen-savers or the latest Voodoo card only to have bizarre system crashes that are impossible to trace based on the error messages that pop-up or even what gets written into the event log. They seem stunned when the fix is to load the standard svga driver.
Other possibilities;
-- A conflict with another application. What other app's are running, including services?
-- Have you loaded anything to the server from the OS OEM disk since applying SP5 or 6? If so, you just killed a bunch of updates from the service pack and you'll have to reload it.
Perhaps posting a little more info about the DrWatson error you received might shed some light on the problem. Also some info about how you've configured WUG -- have you setup anything special?

- Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] WUG Crash constantly!!
- Good afternoon:
- I have an NT Server 4.0 with WhatsUp 6.0 and recently I applied the 6.03 patch. But it still crashing 2 or 3 times a week and sometimes daily, generating a DrWatson. I'm monitoring 110 devices in the same map.
- What would be causing the WUG to crash?
- TIA
