Hi all, I have some tough implementation of Whatsup gold (I'm using 7.03 on Windows 2000 Server). Here's a couple of questions -
1. How would you suggest testing clustered services in active-active, active-passive modes? 2. Is there a way to define generic SNMP services and define different thresholds for different hosts? 3. Is it possible to create additional container custom objects in Whatsup beside Subnet and Container? 4. I'm looking for a way of testing NFS (Unix) and CIFS (NT) file systems by running a script that will attempt to write a file to a directory on a shared volume with success/failure flags. I know Cocores has a plug-in for that, but their pricing is too high for my solution. Question - Has anyone found a way of running scripts as a part of a test on remote hosts? (for example opening an RPC connection - net use etc..)? 5. How would you graphically display a device with multiple interfaces that you monitor (A switch for example)? Container with different host for each interface? I'll appreciate any thoughts and ideas you might have, Thanks, Amihai Bareket Senior System Engineer & Consultant Xpert systems Ltd.
