Hi!
Just create different icons for each service and assign service names to
icons.
All these icons should depend on "main" server.
Of course youll get more that one ping for each resource with services.

| Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] Is there a way to receive UP alerts for each
individual service? |
>------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
I'm running WUG 7.0x (Currently upgraded to 7.04) on Windows 2000
server, SP3.
There's seems to be a problem with the up alerts -
Whenever a services goes done, an alerts goes out correctly (I'm
currently using Email & Syslog). The problem occurs when the service
goes back up. I then receive a message of all the services that are on
that host, and not just about the one that failed earlier. This presents
a problem in case there's more then one failed service on a host, and I
want to be notified separately for each service that goes back up.
I've tried configuring the alerts both with the to possible options -
"Send UP alert after the device and all services are up" "Send
individual UP alerts for the device and each service that comes up"
The message string I'm using is -
%T %h (%a) %Y %v %u at %d %t
%T - Device type (for example - server)
%h - Device name (For Example - exchange)
%a - Device IP Address (For example - 10.20.21.31)
%Y - Name of UP services - this is sent on the up notification
(For example - "NT Disk space - partition 1")
%v - Name of DOWN services - this is sent on the down
notification
%u - Service/Host status (UP or DOWN for device, SVCUP or
SVCDOWN for service)
%d - date when the message was sent
%t - time when the message was sent
I've tried using different variables, but they all produced the same
result - a list of all UP services on the host.
Can any one think of a way to send UP alerts that will specify only the
name of the service that came back up?
