Hi Andy,

I think what you might be looking for can be found on your switches at the
following location:
iso.org.dod.internet.mgmt.mib-2.dot1dBridge.dot1dTp.dot1dTpFdbTable
1.3.6.1.2.1.17.4.3.1

Three Mibs will give you the answer you are looking for:
1.3.6.1.2.1.17.4.3.1.1 dot1dTpFdbAddress ;gives the MAC address
1.3.6.1.2.1.17.4.3.1.2 dot1dTpFdbPort ;port of the switch the above MAC
address was found on

Have Fun.

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] SNMP OID for connected MAC address by port?

Hi,

Sorry, not strictly WUG related but I don't know anywhere else with such a
high propertion of network experts!

I'm looking to use SNMP to scan our switches and see what MAC addresses are
connected to which port, primarily for asset management purposes.

The OID "ifPhysAddress.1" shows me the MAC address of the port itself, but
does anyone know the OID to get the MAC address of the machine connected to
that port?

Many thanks in advance!

Andy.
