For instance, if your i90's phone number was: 414-555-1212, you would be able to dial 414-555-6629 and get a modem to answer. We have successfully tested this in two communities where different NEXTEL systems are in use. If your plan allows you to send EMAIL to your phone there are two (that I know of) ways to send a page/email to your phone: Using the sample above: [EMAIL PROTECTED] would get you a one-way page to your phone. or you can send: [EMAIL PROTECTED] will get you a two-way capable email to your phone. This means you'll be able to reply to it if you have that service enabled. There is also a xxx-xxx-7243(PAGE) terminal that uses voice prompts and numeric paging - not sure how I'd use this but it's there as well. Enjoy. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Arumugam, Sundar" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Wednesday, November 20, 2002 10:59 AM Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] paging a text message on nextel i90c > I am new to the paging concept on Whatsup Gold. > > My understanding is: > I have to connect a modem on the serial port on the workstation on which the > whatsup gold is loaded and configure the pager notification. > > Is there a method, which does not require a modem/telephone connection? > Is it possible to send the page over internet? > > Does Nextel i90c accept text message paging.
