I thought this was already a feature?
When I put the trap information there are four fields I enter (pg 196 in
the user guide):
"The trap syntax is: displayname,SNMP_object_id,major_trap,minor_trap..."
So for instance on my Dell server with dual power supplies, I simply want a
trap when a power supply drops, I enter this:
"alertPowerSupplyFailure,baseboardGroup,6,1354" of course I've already
compiled the vender specific MIBs with "mibextra.exe" located in the
Whatsup subdirectory.
Speaking of traps--perhaps IPSwitch could fix this small problem. Drill
down to the specific device, then click on the "Alerts" link. Either "Add"
or "Edit" SMTPMail alerts, about half-way down the screen is the block to
enter "On SNMP Trap" info. Why can I only view 6 characters at a time in
this field? Anyway to stretch this field so more info could be entered or
viewed?

My only addition for now would be the ability to key on what i call major
and minor traps. Cisco is noted for this type of structure and it would be
great to be able to send an alert for the specific minor and not just the
major.
