Maybe I am missing something, but...can you offer some insight as to why this would be
a good capability or an example of a practical use?

You can already copy a device from one map to another. If you wish not to receive
alerts, then just don't enable them. If you monitor the device via TCP or ICMP, then
of course it will be included in the poll list.

Thanks...

I second and third this!

* Ability to duplicate a device onto multiple maps, but only poll and alert
for one instance

I would love to see the following and would pay for the features;

* WMI integration
* Better trap handling (including the ability to parse trap details into
variables like HP Openview NNM can and specify multiple traps per device)
* Ability to duplicate a device onto multiple maps, but only poll and alert
for one instance

Along with the ability to notify specific groups for monitored services for
a specific device....how about the ability to customize the recurring
notifications to be sent to specific groups or departments (NT Admin, Unix
Admin, SQL Admin, Exchange Admin, Web Admin, Helpdesk, etc.)

Currently the recurring notifications messaging is very limited (you can
only customize date and time intervals). It will show device with service
down, but not the specify the service name. It also sends notices for all
maps and not a specific map.

Another wish would be the ability to specify different notification groups
per Monitored SERVICE. (But only if desired!) We have lots of boxes with
mixed services on them that are the responsibility of different individuals,
it would be nice to be able to target those notifications.

I agree with this one, it would be nice to be able to specify this or
specify multiple trap/notifications per device. For instance, if a key
device misses even one pole we want one person to get an email immediately,
(our comm guy) but if it actually goes down, we want it to do the general
group pages.

My only addition for now would be the ability to key on what i call major
and minor traps. Cisco is noted for this type of structure and it would be
great to be able to send an alert for the specific minor and not just the
major.
