I'm a big fan of Term Svs and 2K too, but we're still on NT4 (at least
on this server) with the upgrade to 2k still months away.

I recently saw a VNC "Lite" version on the web that boasted of greatly
increase performance, but I can't find it now. Anyone know where I can
find it? Sorry for being a "little" of subject!

Solved

Little tip,

I use WUG on a 2000 server with terminal services. I open my WUG
console in Terminal Services, open the maps, then disconnect from the
session. I have no timeout on the session so it stays active. I can
then use terminal services to connect tothe console from anywhere. The
performace is very good, I can even manage the system effectively over a
56k dial up.

Bingo - Remote Admin GUI. It works great, try it.

Ditto on the remote GUI! VNC is a real PITA.

Now I must say that as much as I hate GUI that remote admin GUI is one
very
good idea! I could even live with that.

Problem
=======
When running as a service, you have to use the web-interface to make
changes, or stop the service and use the GUI, which then starts all
the
stats from zero.

My Workaround
=============
Run the GUI and lock the logged on server, which still provides the
web
interface, but then introduces the need login to start WUG if rebooted.
Yeah
a reboot starts stats again too I hear you laugh, and it's only done
every 6
months anyway....

Wishlist
=======
Can we have a GUI that can detect the service is already running, and
simply
attach itself to the existing service, and just for fun can we have
that GUI
to load on our admin workstations to manage WUG too?

Had to ask! just keep using VNC you might say.
