actually, the fix for this problem was from a different perspective. turns out the system had an old install of the app. I moved the latest install into the directory the old install was from, then changed my registry to reflect this change.

things seem to be working now. thanks for the efforts

My colleague David figured this one out.  But he is having trouble remembering the fix.  There needs to be a modification made to an asp page.  It is an easy fix once he remembers, just don't want you re-installing.  I am nailing him with a cattle prod until he spits it out.  Hold on.

hmmm.... is it that simple? I've done just that yet do not still see the services coming back. I've examined the working services.ini file and the broken file. Before the change, yes they definately were different. Now they are identical and yet i'm still stuck. ???

Make a copy of services.ini - it holds all of the standard and custom services information - and place it into the WUG root directory.  Restart WUG and you should be fine.

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] Monitors and Services disappeared

Hello,

I've recently upgraded to 7.04 from 7.03 (initial install of 7.0) and suddenly I've found my services have disappeared. My maps still retain the list of the services, but Monitors and Services no longer has this listing. On top of that, I am also missing the standard services that come with WhatsUp. Items such as FTP, HTTP, and DNS are no longer listed.

Anyone know a quick fix? I do have access to a backup, and my test system which I make changes to before I make changes to my production system. (It has not experienced the problem.)

thanks!
