I am currently monitoring Event Logs on 8 W2K servers with WebNM/Logalot. There are 12 different people who can get either a page or email from each of the servers dependant on unique text within the Event Log message.
I would prefer to convert the Event Log monitoring to WhatsUp so that all my notifications are coming from one notification system (with other reasons that I will not detail). What I am considering doing...... Have a map for each of the 8 servers and each time I add a server I add a map. Create an "Event" icon for each of the 12 unique email notifications on each map. Create an "Event" icon for each of the 12 unique pager notifications on each map. Does anyone see a simpler alternative for me. Carl D.
