If the person will not need to receive email alerts from any device during this time, then simply modify the properties of the person's email alert in the notifications library. You could change the mail server or the email address to something not real. Again, this will remove them from all alerts, so this wont work if you need to remove them from some but not all devices. Just change the setting back when they are to start getting alerts again.
