Okay, I've been trying to get this to work, I have a call opened up with support, support sent two test messages to my phone so I know it can be done. They've tried to help me out a little but now it's like they dropped off the face of the earth. They did tell me to use the No EOT TAP because sprint does not send an EOT. Open for suggestions on this one, I'm using the default scripts that come with Version 8.0. Did anyone modify the scripts in any way? Can you post them or send them to me, I would like to get this working...
Thanks David E. Ewers Network Engineer Corgan Associates Inc. [EMAIL PROTECTED] 214.757.1608 >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 02/12/03 09:25AM >>> For SMTP: E-mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] where 1234567890 is the phone number of the Sprint phone. For text messaging directly: The dialup number is 888-656-1727. Protocol is TAP, no terminal password, Pager ID is the 10 digit Sprint phone number. Adjust the message string as desired. I have my modem settings at 300 baud. I'm sure I tried higher speeds when I set this up but 300 was the one that worked consistently. Works great for us. I found this info on the Sprint PCS web site somewhere. Obviously, you have to pay for the messaging features for them to be active on your phone. We have a big pool of shared minutes and shared text messages for my department. -- Ron Parker, Director of Information Technology, Brazosport College Voice: (979) 230-3480 FAX: (979) 230-3443 On Wed, 12 Feb 2003, Goodwin, Robert wrote: > All, > > > > > > I know there has been some discussion of sending e-mail and sms pages to > a sprint phone. > > > > Has anyone been successful in setting up whats up and their phone to > receive both smtp notifications and sms notifications? > > > > Sprint themselves has been no help to me and was wondering is anyone > could help me in making sure that our new sprint phones can receive > alerts (and ring) > > > > Thanks > > > > Rob > > Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
