I have some async backup interfaces on my routers. I would like to know
when these interfaces are up an then go back down. Basically backwards than
normal. In a 'everything working' state, these interfaces would be down,
but I don't want to show them as down since this is normal. I only want to
change the icons and send alerts if they come up. In a case where the frame
link goes down, the primary interface of the router would go down and the
systems sends alerts. Within a few minutes, the backup interface comes up,
and the primary interface is reachable again, so the system says its back
up. even though the frame link is still down. If I was able to receive a
alert that the backup interface is up, then an alert when it goes down
again, it would be a great help. Does anybody have any ideas?

Thanks,

RPW
