Hi all. I'm hoping someone has seen this problem
and can assist. Fresh new install of Win2k Server, fresh install of WUG 8. (and just in case it matters, EtherpeekNX and CiscoWorks v5 for
Windows, Dual NICS, both active same subnet on a Dell PE1300 w/256mb RAM) The problem, I brought my maps and services over from
our old system. When I run WUG 8, things are fine. I get the responses and NT
service monitoring I expect. However, when I run WUG as an NT service, I get a
few responses that say I've got failures. Any clue? The difficulty here is some NT services respond fine
without regard to what server I'm monitoring. Some just do NOT respond
period. (and as I type this I'm thinking, maybe it's
a time out issue I need to look at....but where?) For example, I have defined ExgMTA
for the exchange servers. The exact service name is MSExchangeMTA.
Right now the WUG 8 app is reporting is working great. But as soon as I quit
the app, start the service, I will get inundated with smtp msg's. Anybody able to offer a hand? Thanks Visit our award winning website with over 6,000 products! |
