I can say that I also get a lot of the same with the 9+ DNS servers I monitor. I only log when I miss 1 but alarm on anything more than that. I don't think that I am having DNS problems, they are new DNS servers running Lucent QIP on dual processor compaq DL380, they are just not that heavily loaded.
I also thought that since the servers were remote from the network management station that it could be related to WAN congestion as well.....

We have a few DNS servers throughout our global network that I am monitoring from Atlanta. I keep having issues with DNS timing out and sending out false positives. I am monitoring the point of entry and I can actually do DNS queries from the servers when WUG thinks it is down. Anyone have any idea's? Thanks!
