Whatever you have set under default will be the ‘default’ for any new users.  I assign all users default privileges (look but can’t touch) and then give certain people the rights to make modifications to specific maps.  Also, I don’t like the idea of any joe schmoe in the company to be able to view configuration / ip / hostname / etc… about our network/systems.  I have maps created that give common name descriptions of sites allowing them to see up/down status.  If someone needs to see more detail that’s when they get more than ‘default’ access.  Hope some of this helps.

Ahha, thank you.  I don't suppose there is any easy way to set all maps the same of have a default setting for a user so every time I create a map, I don't have to add it to a user, then select all the options?

Are the security settings for the account that you are using set to allow access to host pages?

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] Web interface map linking

I am trying to get subnets and containers to work in the web view.  In the console, they work fine.  I double click a container and it opens the corresponding map.  The same container is not clickable in the web part.  If I get to the map manually, the parent map link off to the right takes me back to the correct map.  I am running version 8.01 just upgraded from 7.04 and it did not work before either.

Also, if I drill down to a host or end device, when I double click, I do not get the device view.  I only have "top view" and "log view" tabs at the bottom of my windows too.

Thanks for any help or tips.

PS  I did choose the option to replace all my web templates with the new upgrade.
