With a 'not to be mentioned' previous monitoring package we had it set
up where an email could be sent that would suppress/unsuppress alerts
based on criteria specified in the subject. Maybe the same thing could
be created using a syslog message or snmp trap. An event could be
generate upon receipt that would invoke a script? Maybe? Just a
thought.

I've got that part figured out. But I would like users
to be able to do this without having to connect to the
server. Where can I get information about writing a
script that would do this remotely?

I'm thinking something along the lines of:

What server do you want to stop monitoring on? ______
For how long (in minutes)?
<GO>

Thanks for any tips!
Brady
