This really depends on what exactly you are monitoring. If it is just ICMP
(ping), traffic will be minimal. If you are doing a few SNMP variables,
again traffic should be fairly minimal. If you are however doing windows
events, the story becomes different. Specifically the Exchange server can
post several hundreds messages to the event logs a day (some do several
1000's). Another factor is the polling intervall. If you stay with 300 sec
(5 min), ICMP and SNMP should have next to no impact on your line. For
events, a test is necessary as this is not something to predict. It is
vastly different from site to site.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] Bandwidth usage of WUG.

If I have WUG configured to monitor 5 servers at a remote location accessed
via a partial T-1 (1/3), what kind of bandwidth can I expect WUG to use?

Server1: W2K3 AD DC, file server
Server2: W2K3 AD DC, print server, backup jobs server.
Server3: Exchange 2000 on W2K.
Server4: SQL 2000 & SMS 2.0 on W2K
Server5: WINNT 4.0 Server, Fax server, file server.
