I tend to agree. However, WhatsUp has not less visibility using SNMP at all. As long as the value of interest is in a SNMP variable and the mib is defined, WhatsUp gets the data the same way as any other SNMP manager.   I have seen the usage of the CIM agents together with WhatsUp at several sites. Specifically disk information is far superior then the one from Microsoft. Currently for Compaq servers we are using Compaq Insight Manager 7.2. I would appreciate any tips in making the move from Compaq Insight Manager to Whats Up Gold. Naturally we would like to maintain as much of the monitoring after the move. I have never used WUG and I’m also wondering if it will inform us of bad drives, processors, power supplies, etc on the servers.
