this is my first

I am using WUG 8.01
for the first time (have used WUG previous products for over 3 years now) and am
running into some problems with windows nt event monitoring.
Basically I have a
couple of servers that produce a lots of event warnings/erros that I don't care
about and i thought by configuring my own event library i could get round that
but it does not work as ~I expected it to work
i created a NT
warning event and then description match on:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]} and selected does not
contain and match case.
This works as i only
receive alerts which does not contain [EMAIL PROTECTED].
but i have 9 of
these descriptions i do not wish to receive alerts for. if i select add in the
same nt warning event start receiving the [EMAIL PROTECTED] alerts again (i guess when
you add descriptions it only filters out if both descriptions are not
mentioned)
I then created a 2nd
NT warning event and entered a description (does not match on) ([EMAIL PROTECTED]).
I added both events
to the server and selected the events for alerts but what happens now is that i
get warnings for both events (the 1st only listens for warnings excluding [EMAIL PROTECTED] but the 2nd warning
listens for everything but [EMAIL PROTECTED] and picks up on the [EMAIL PROTECTED] and the 1st NT warning
event picks up on hte [EMAIL PROTECTED] event)
so how would i do
this?
Ideally i would like
to configure warning and error events to exclude certain descriptions so i only
get the unexpected warnings and errors.
any ideas/tips would
be greatly appreciated
