All, I apologize for any issues the flood of emails from my account may have caused yesterday. In trying to deal with the persistent, bogus, and virus ridden "critical patch" emails I setup a rule that would reply to anyone sending an email with no subject and delete the original email. What I realized is that when you setup a Groupwise rule such that IF (subject) equals ( ) DO THIS ..., the ( ) blank translates to a wildcard thus any email meets the condition. To make matters worse on our local network, I have "notify when opened" enabled so when my co-workers open an email I sent, I get a notice back from them. So it went like this:
Person A sends me an email. Condition met, rule replies Person A opens that email, this sends another email to me Condition met, rule replies Person A opens that email, this sends another email to me Condition met, rule replies Person A opens that email, this sends another email to me Condition met, rule replies aaaaaannnnnd so on. So again, sorry for the hassle. James Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
