Hello Elliott,

Yes, Whatsupgold can do this.  How many SNMP MIB instances do you want to poll?  If you want to poll over 20 or so, you might want to consider a 3rd party add on to WhatsUp Gold:  http://www.somix.com/products/denika_whats_up_gold_integration.php

Also, you can get a free 100 report license of Denika by registering your copy of WhatsUp Gold here:

Sincerely,

Michael Patterson

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] Performance Monitoring w/WhatsUpG

I've been using wug for quite a while to monitor our routers across our wan, some unix servers and a few services.

I got in my email a message talking about statscout, a performance monitoring app, that monitors snmp devices across networks, at intervals of 60s.  I was wondering is Whatsupgold can do this, saving us cost and more equipment admin? and my other question is what program do you suggest for this purpose?

this is a sample of what statscout does

Historical Reports

·         Hourly, daily and monthly reports for:

·         Device outages

·         Bytes

·         Frames

·         Errors

·         Discards

·         FECN/BECNs

·         Threshold exceed counts

·         Frame relay CIR exceed counts

·         Number of hours which experienced: Errors, Discards, FECN/BECNs

·         Decoded SNMP traps

I know we are subutilizing our wug because we don't use any of the snmp monitoring but that's another story.

Thank you,

Elliott
