Hi Mike,

If a change is done via the web interface, the logged in user is logged.
However, I agree with the other suggestion. A more versatile log would be an
excellent addition. Even better would be a mode, whereby WhatsUp runs as a
service and the GUI logs on as a client service. This would solve a ton of
issues discussed on this list over and over again. It would be a change in
architecture, but one worthwhile looking at.

Thanks

I agree with Jon, this would be a nice addition. Also, if it could tell me
if it was done via the web interface and the account the user logged in
with.

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] Log changes made to a map

Is there a way to log detailed modifications made to a map in Whatsup Gold?

The following entry appears in the activity log.

20031125 171604 Map D:\Program Files\WhatsUp\Pantellos.net.wup saved

This is not specific as to the change that was made such as device monitor
disabled, alert notification removed, poll interval increased, etc.

However, if a map is changed and not saved, and the only way to determine
that changes have been made to the map is to see a asterisk * in the name.
Guess the other problem is that if a change is made to a map via the
console, there is no login entry to assign to a specific admin.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Jon
