We ran into this problem, using a browser with multiple screens (NetCaptor). We reload the application every night shortly after midnight (in order to put a time/date stamp on anything that's down at midnight). Our operations staff would then reload NetCaptor, initiating queries for multiple maps simultaneously.

Since the CGI images are named using system time in the naming algorithm, sometimes the CGI names were duplicated because the browser was sending essentially simultaneous requests for different maps. We had the Operations staff change their procedure so that they refreshed each page independently, which leaves enough time between the map requests for the naming to function properly.

Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] Web Confusion

We are running Whats Up v7.03  and lately have been experiencing a strange problem with the web server.   Certain Subnets when clicked through the web interface will bring up the wrong map.

It seems to happen only on some of the subnets and randomly moves.   Accessing via the console brings the right map up every time.

If I close the wrong map being brought up from the console,  it fixes it.

Anybody know what could be causing this?

I have Whats Up v8.x and am still working an implementation plan to move to it.   Would this behavior go away in this version?

Thanks,
Steve Warnock
