Have your tried a custom WUG service?

You will need to create (or have one of your developers create) a page
that mimics the connections and queries you are concerned with. It
should then return a phrase like "all is wonderful" if all DB queries
are successful.

Then create a new TCP/IP Service and copy in the setting from the HTTP
content scan. Modify the HTTP GET to get the CGI script or ASP page
created above.

You then create an icon with this service being monitored and under the
general category change the polling method to Services only. Your
device statistics will now be based on the time it takes to do an HTTP
GET to your script. I have found this is a great way to monitor site
performance and to verify database availability.

Hi all, I am wondering what tools out there that people are using to
monitor
response time of web applications. I am looking for something that will
allow me to define click through scenarios, and report on the
performance of
the application response.

Any one have any experience with commercial, or preferably freeware
software?
