Peter, When you say "I lost the Notification Library", I assume that means that you cannot see SMTPMail and other Notification types in the GUI (Configure -> Notifications Library) but that the Notifications themselves have not actually vanished. The Notifications being text files stored in subdirectories of \WhastUps\Notification.
If that's the case then I believe that what has happened is that your Notification DLL somehow got unregistered when you appled the Microsoft patch. This is easy to test... 1) With WhatsUp Gold not running, drop to the command prompt and navigate to the WhatsUp program directory. 2) Run: regsvr32.exe ntfystd.dll A dialog will confirm that registration has occured. When you then start up WhatsUp Gold you should now be able to see SMTPMail and other Notification types listed in the library again.. and your individual Notifications will not have been lost. Back up the entire folder. If you have made no changes since the last backup, simply restore the folder. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of van Alphen, Peter Sent: Thursday, May 13, 2004 6:29 AM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: [WhatsUp Forum] Lost Notification Library after installing patch MS04-011 Hello, I just joined, so I do not know if the issue was already brought forward. I have WhatsupGold 8.03 running on Windows2000 Server. After installing the Microsoft MS04-011 patch, I lost the Notification Library (with the exception of Group). As a result the email-notification does not work anymore. Does anybody have the same experience and better: a solution ?
