Right click on your device (provided snmp manageable is ticked on the device) SNMP View, then select "Selected interface MIB" and navigate the snmp tree... "iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.yourbrandname" where you should see the item and current values that where added by mibextra.

When setting up the SNMP monitor, there is a "..." lookup for the object ID which also lets you select by name.

Hope that helps,

Richard

Thanks for information.

I have ran the mibextra command and thats ok.  I can now create a service but how would I know which appropriate oid to use to monitor air temperature.  Where can I find this information.

Gurvinder,

There is an exe file in the WUG directory that you have to run to add the mib file to it's database; it's called "mibextra".
Run it from a command prompt ... run it as ... mibextra /?  to get the help for it.
It's a little cryptic, but it works.

Then, create a service in WUG and use the appropriate SNMP oid for the device (for instance the oid that monitors the air temp).
When adding it you tell the service that if "x" value reaches "x" then consider it down (so 76 degrees for instance).

Add the actual device in WUG and then attach that service to the device.

There may be other ways, but that's how I've monitored fans in a device before.

Has anyone used a device called interseptor, which measures temperature of rooms and sends out alerts when the temperature thereshold is reached.  The device is a snmp device and can be used in whats up to be monitored.  The device comes with a mib file.  Would anyone know how i can use whats up to monitor this device.

Thanks
