Rodrigo,

I think you'll need to convert kbits/bytes? per second back to octets to understand what thresholds to set for your link capacity as opposed to working from a difference.

I've not done it myself, I tend to use historical graphs for managing bandwidth, but I hope this helps.

Subject: RES: [WhatsUp Forum] Bandwith Monitor - Alerts

Hi Richard,

When I create a performance graph, WUG give a difference between the old value and new value, and show me the bandwith status. And with MIBs I dont have this value (difference) just total value in and outsoits difficult find the correct values with MIBs

In SNMP Monitoring I have an option Change in Range Value. I think so but the difference (variation) dont show the bandwith utilization for example. The value its 3250 but my utilization its in 220.256 Bytes. Do you understand???

Thank you

Rodrigo,

You'll just need to create a new service type "SNMP Monitoring" available in the "Monitors & Services..." menu option.

I can't recall if the SNMP Monitoring part may have been optional on the install of WUG, if it's not available, perhaps look at your install.

Richard

Hi,

Its me again... Im monitoring my bandwith utilization, but in a performance graph... and I need add an alert for this event

The perf. Graph look for diference between values and I dont have this

Have any solution to monitor and alert this topic: bandwith utilization

Thank you
